Move your IT to the most popular cloud

Migration to AWS

You have taken the right decision considering moving your IT infrastructure to the world’s most popular Cloud Solution Platform AWS. Being Partners for AWS, WinMethods helps you in your cloud journey with AWS.

Cloud computing with AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 200 fully-featured services from data centers globally. Millions of customers—including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies—are using AWS to lower costs, become more agile, and innovate faster.

How Migration Process Works

We follow three-phase migration process to help your organization to migrate all your applications irrespective of the size or complexity. While each phase is a common component of a successful migration, they are not discrete phases, but an iterative process.

At the start of your journey, we will be interacting with all the stakeholders in your organization and identify the desired business outcomes and develop the business case for migration.

Our experts help you assess your on-premises resources and build a right-sized and optimized cost projection for running applications in AWS. Our initial evaluation includes a quick review of your company’s existing IT Assets and could lead to a deeper engagement which provides a total cost of ownership (TCO) projection for AWS based on your actual utilization of resources by utilizing our years of expertise in helping customers optimize their compute, storage, database, networking, and software licenses on AWS.

As part of the mobilize phase, we create a migration plan and refine the same as per your business case. We help you to address gaps in your organization’s readiness that were uncovered in the assessment phase, with a focus on building your baseline environment (the “landing zone”), driving operational readiness.

A strong migration plan starts with a deeper understanding of the interdependencies between applications and evaluates migration strategies to meet your business case objectives. One critical aspect of developing your migration strategy is to collect application portfolio data and rationalize applications using the seven common migration strategies: relocate, rehost, replatform, refactor, repurchase, retire, or retain.

By using native tools of AWS and some third-party assessment tools, we collect and present detailed information about application dependencies and utilization to help you make more informed decisions as you plan your migration.

During the migrate and modernize phase, each application is designed, migrated, and validated.

Our Migration Team provides you with progress updates across all migrations, identify and troubleshoot any issues, and reduce the overall time and effort spent on migration projects.

For many applications, the best approach is to rapidly move to the cloud and then re-architect in AWS. There are times when we can’t install an agent-based migration service on your server; we use agentless service which makes it easier and faster for you to migrate thousands of on-premises workloads to AWS from a snapshot of the existing server. If you have VMware Cloud Foundation-based environments, VMware Cloud on AWS allows you to quickly relocate hundreds of applications virtualized on vSphere to the AWS Cloud in just days, while maintaining consistent operations with your on-premises environments.

When migrating from one database source or version to a new platform or software version, AWS Database Migration Service keeps the source database fully operational during the migration, minimizing downtime to applications that rely on the database.

Data is the cornerstone of successful cloud application deployments. AWS has the most options to get data to our cloud depending on the nature of the data and the application. No matter the use case, we have a data transfer method that fits your needs.

As your applications move to the cloud, you use Service Catalog to create and manage catalogs of IT services that are approved for use on AWS. These IT services can include everything from virtual machine images, servers, software, and databases to complete multi-tier application architectures. AWS Service Catalog allows you to centrally manage commonly deployed IT services and helps you achieve consistent governance and meet your compliance requirements while enabling users to quickly deploy only the approved IT services they need.
